Wellness isn't built through perfection—it's built through the routines that carry us through life's most challenging seasons.
Imagine, Your Kitchen, Transformed. Your Health, Simplified. Chef Lisa Gentile helps individuals, couples, and teams build lasting wellness through personalized cooking experiences — in your home, at your office, or online.

I created Root Rhythm and Routine because I know firsthand that food is never just about food.
Like many families, mine has faced profound health challenges, including cancer, anxiety, chronic childhood conditions, and the devastating loss of our son to mental health. Those experiences changed the way I understand nourishment, resilience, and the small daily routines that carry us through life's most difficult moments. I learned that healing and wellness are not built through perfection—they are often supported by the habits, systems, and connections we create at home.
My journey brought together a lifelong love of food with formal education in culinary arts, gastronomy, psychology, and education. Through those experiences, I began to see the kitchen differently — not simply as a place to cook, but as a place where health, family, culture, memories, and resilience intersect. Root Rhythm and Routine was built on that belief.
Today, I help individuals, couples, families, and organizations create kitchen systems and food routines that work for real life. My approach blends culinary education, behavior change, organization, and wellness to make nourishing choices more approachable and sustainable.
I believe a calmer kitchen can create a calmer mind. When we create rhythms and routines that support us, we build more than meals— we build connection, confidence, and a foundation for lifelong wellness.

Boston University Metropolitan College
Master of Liberal Arts in Gastronomy (Hybrid Program)
Earning my Master of Liberal Arts in Gastronomy from Boston University Metropolitan College expanded my understanding of food as a powerful intersection of culture, science, history, policy, and human experience. Through a multidisciplinary curriculum, I explored the many ways food shapes our lives—from the anthropology and history of food to food policy, food systems, sustainability, and the relationship between food and mental health.
My studies included food and tourism, urban agriculture, food activism, food science, and the sensory experiences that influence how we perceive and connect with food. I also continued to expand my culinary perspective through advanced baking and pastry studies, strengthening my appreciation for technique, tradition, creativity, and the role of food in bringing people together.
This graduate experience deepened my belief that food is more than nourishment—it is a reflection of identity, community, environment, and well-being. The knowledge gained through Boston University's Gastronomy program directly informs my work with Root Rhythm and Routine, where I combine culinary expertise, behavioral understanding, and food culture to help individuals, families, and organizations create meaningful kitchen systems and sustainable routines that support healthier, more connected lives.
